Jimmy Cochran - Head Coach Jimmy Cochran was named the first Head Coach at Hough High School in 2010, after serving as the Head Coach at Parkwood High School from 2007-2010. During the first nine seasons at Hough, Cochran has compiled a 214-87 record. Cochran’s teams at Hough have won 8 conference championships, a NC 4A Western Regional Championship, and his 2012 team finished as the 4A State Championship runner up. Cochran has coached 11 All-State players as well as 67 All-Conference selections through the first 11 years of the program. He has also seen 62 players from his Hough teams go on to compete at the college level as well as 2 MLB draft picks. Cochran was named the 2012 “All-Observer” Coach of the Year, the Lake Norman Citizen and Huntersville Herald Coach of the Year and is a 6 time conference coach of the year.
Brian Harrill - Pitching Coach Brian Harrill is entering his 17th year as pitching coach at the high school level. Before coming to Hough in 2013, Harrill was the pitching coach in Union County at Parkwood High School. He has coached over 20 pitchers through to pitch at the college level including 3 MLB draft picks. In his time at Hough, his pitching staff has boasted a 1.63 ERA including a school best 1.01 ERA in 2017. Harrill was named the 2017 Assistant Coach of the Year by the North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association.
Pete Jenkins - Hitting/Catching Coordinator Pete is in his 9th year as hitting coach at Hough High. Prior to Hough Pete spent 16 years coaching at the collegiate level with stops at Florida State University and Ohio State University. Pete Has coached 23 players who have reached the big leagues and over 50 who have gone on to play professional baseball. In 2017, Coach Jenkins oversaw an offense that set a school record for team batting average and on base percentage. In 2018, Coach Jenkins led the Husky offense to school records for runs scored, home runs and extra base hits.
Spencer Venator - Head JV Coach/Outfield Coach Coach Venator enters his 10th season with the program in a coaching capacity after playing for the Huskies from 2010-2012. Spencer was named the Head JV coach in 2016 after serving as an assistant coach for his first 2 seasons on the staff. In addition to his JV Head Coaching responsibilities, Spencer also works with the Husky outfielders. He was a member of the 2012 Western Regional Championship team and was the starting pitcher in game 2 of the 2012 State Championship series. Venator collected 9 career wins on the mound for the Huskies and posted a 2.77 career ERA.
Angel Nino - Infielders Coach Angel is entering his 4th season with the Huskies infielders and hitters. Nino's defense led the Huskies to a school record .976 fielding percentage in 2022.
